Munster to host Barbarians in Thomond
Munster Rugby is scheduled to host a significant double-header at Thomond Park on Saturday, September 30, where both the women's and men's squads will face off against the Barbarians.
The Interprovincial Champions will commence the proceedings at 2 pm, followed by the men's side at 4.30 pm.
This event promises a festive celebration of rugby, presenting an opportunity for families to gather at the esteemed Limerick venue.
Notably, Thomond Park previously hosted the Barbarians in November 2017, marking a historic milestone as the inaugural women's fixture for the Barbarians side, with the Munster Women's side serving as their first oppositition.
While this will be the first time the men’s sides face each other, the world’s most famous invitation side did play Tonga and Ireland on their previous visits to Thomond Park.
Coming in the pre-season window, the occasion will allow players valuable game-time in preparation for their respective club seasons, promising an exciting exhibition of attacking rugby.

Out of shock I shouted Ireland are going to win the world cup. Upon waking up I apologised for the distress caused by my Ireland comment. The matter is closed. If you wish to pursue this matter may I remind you what I told Wayne Barnes when he sent me off. I AM A BIG ASS MAN”. Or was it “I AM A BIG ASS, MAN” or was it “I AM A BIG ASSMAN”?
