New Wallaby fullback 'just what Australian rugby needs' - Campese

Wallaby great David Campese believes new fullback Tom Banks is just what Australian rugby needs.
“Australian rugby needs guys with flair and Banks is one of those guys who can create something out of nothing for you because he backs himself,” Campese said.
The 23-year-old fullback has pushed his way into the Wallabies frame on the back of a purple patch of form with the Brumbies, the standout moment being a 70-metre individual try against the Bulls. He joined the Wallabies for their first training session on Monday afternoon at Brothers Rugby Club, where he was running around on not too long ago for UQ.
Banks was apart of the Queensland Reds squad in 2015 but missed selection in 2016. An injury crisis saw him recalled to play a handful of games at the end of the season which led to then Brumbies head coach Stephen Larkham take a punt and sign him for 2017.
“We have a team theme at the Brumbies to play with no fear and personally I have my confidence back (after a slow season start),” Banks said.
“Bernie (Larkham) taught me a lot about perfecting the little things with running lines, passing and so on.
However, the biggest hurdle to the Wallabies 15 jersey is Waratahs superstar Israel Folau who will be one of the first picked in Michael Cheika's side to face Ireland.
“The main thing is to learn what I can off Israel because he is a step above everyone in the world as a fullback right now and hopefully my time will come eventually.
