New All Blacks coach to be announced today - report
Following months of rumours and speculation, New Zealand Rugby are expected to announce the next All Blacks coach at 4pm NZT today.
NZR will be making an announcement at the NZ Rugby House, and it’s believed to be about the next All Blacks coach.
Both the New Zealand Herald and Stuff are reporting that Ian Foster’s successor will be unveiled in Wellington on Tuesday.
Crusaders coach Scott Robertson and Japan boss Jamie Joseph are believed to be the front runners for the position.
Robertson dropped an All Blacks coaching bombshell earlier this year, saying NZR would make an announcement “in the next few days.”
But the six-time Super Rugby winning coach changed his approach to the relentless questions surrounding his future last week.
“All those questions go back to NZRU, about timing and process,” Robertson told reporters.
“You can ask me the question, but it’s really aligned and aimed at them.
“Anything around the NZR stuff, it’s best that I say nothing.
“Do I still want the job? Yeah, nothing’s changed on my behalf.
“But anything to do with the process, anything to do with announcements or other people’s decision is for NZR to answer.”

A Turtle has more pace and leg drive than Owen Franks, so it’s a good thing he only had to run 90 metres for that try.
