'Not acceptable' - Scotland star's message to fans after Glasgow thrashed

George Horne promised Glasgow fans they would do everything possible to improve after their season ended with a thrashing in Dublin.
Warriors suffered their heaviest defeat in 25 years as they went down 76-14 to Leinster in the United Rugby Championship quarter-finals.
Richie Gray and Ollie Smith were yellow-carded in each half for Glasgow but the margin of victory sparked questions about the future of Warriors head coach Danny Wilson after the home team ran in 12 tries at the RDS Arena.
Horne, who returned from injury off the bench to score a consolation try, described the performance as “just not good enough” and apologised to travelling fans.
He added on a club video: “We have set our standards higher than that and to put on a performance like that is just not acceptable for us as a squad and a club, and also for the fans as well.
“Look, we know we have a lot of work to do and we are going to do everything we can to come back better next year.
“We have a bit of time off now and we spoke as a group about how we have got to come back hungry and wanting to get better because we can’t have a repeat of that.
“Everyone was hurting a lot and we know we have a lot of work to do over the summer.”

Go to commentsI’m looking forward to attending the Twickenham match, I don’t think it will have a bearing on the outcome of the grand prize itself but it will tell us more about each teams’ preparation and game plan. It’s hard to look past one of the big four (I’m including Canada) lifting the trophy in 2025 but sport is a curious thing, there will still be twists and turns in road ahead.
