Outgoing Storm star Cronk rules out rugby union switch
Waratahs fans hoping to see Cooper Cronk in Super Rugby next season had their hopes dashed after the Melbourne Storm star dismissed speculation of a move to rugby union.
Cronk, 33, is set to leave Storm to return home to Sydney and a host of NRL sides are chasing his signature, however talk of a code-switch to Waratahs has emerged.
Waratahs poured cold water on those rumours on Thursday and Dally M Medallist Cronk followed suit as the Australia half-back decides whether to continue playing in 2018.
"That won't be happening," Cronk told reporters on Friday.
"Everyone has their right to an opinion but I haven't had any conversation with rugby union and I have no intention.
"My intention is to make a decision on if I play again next year not where I am going to play."
Cronk continued: "Media have their right to fill some pages but they don't know the conversations I have had.
"I did play a bit of rugby at school and thoroughly enjoyed it and I watch rugby and played with some of the current Wallabies players.
"But I love rugby league. It has given me everything I have in my life.
"I am an avid supporter of the game."

Thanks for the analysis Nick, thought provoking as usual. Couple of queries though, in the pic where you've circled Williams bind , I'm pretty sure it shows Stuart's knee on the ground, surely that's a NZ penalty? Also having had the chance to watch it again the All Black scrum seeems to improve after halftime, but before either England or the All Blacks replace their props. Not sure if that was the result of Tuipolutu coming on or some halftime tips. Either way this is only Williams second international season, so he'll be better for the experience.
Go to commentsif the clock could be turned back, Jones should still have been given the top job, to be assisted by Farrell, Borthwick, Catt, & Rowntree, and after 2019 he should have been replaced by Farrell.
