Pontypool RFC CEO calls out 'gutless troll' who harassed him 'for years' on Twitter
The CEO of Pontypool RFC has called out a man he claims has harassed him from the safety of Twitter for years.
CEO Ben Jeffreys was branded a 'weed' yesterday by the man at the centre of complaints, who has apparently been trolling the club executive 'incessantly' for years on Twitter.
The pair met in real life this weekend in a match between Pontypool RFC and Crosskeys.
The man in question wrote: "(W)ell you were very underwhelming today just the weed I thought you might be. And I’ve never pm’d [sic] your family as you stated to people. I’m not interested in your family and much less you you scrout. Thank your supporters for chanting my name on the terraces."
CEO Jeffreys decided to fight back against the abuse, tweeting a response following his side's crushing 54 - 3 defeat of local rival Crosskeys.
"You had your chance to say your piece earlier after harassing me on Twitter for years and you sh** out.
"It’s no good trying to be a big man now you’re back behind your keyboard.
"Today showed you’re just a gutless troll who doesn’t have a set of bollocks in the real world."
"(He) shouted at me from the window of the clubhouse on my way to the game. When I asked him to look me in the eye and repeat the vile things he’s tweeted, he couldn’t find the courage to do it."
"A nasty, gutless little bully."
"Actually, he approached me at the game and couldn’t bring himself to look me in the eye and repeat the vile things he’s said about me and my mental health. He would only speak to me through a half open window and recoiled like a typical gutless keyboard warrior. I hate bullies."
"I know I’ve not covered myself in glory here Paul and I ignore 99% of the abuse - but this had gone too far with this guy. He’s incessantly harrassed and abused me for over three years and sometimes you have to call out a bully and look them in the eyes to expose their cowardice."
The CEO received overwhelming support on Twitter after the calling out.

It is crystal clear that people who make such threats on line should be tried and imprisoned. Those with responsibility in social media companies who don’t facilitate this should be convicted. In real life, I have free speech to approach someone like Reinach and verbally threaten him. I am risking a conviction or a slap but I could do it. In the old days, If someone anonymously threatened someone by letter the police would ask and use evidence from the postal system. Unlike the Post, social media companies have complete instant and legal access to the content in social media. They make money from the data, billions. Yet, they turn a blind eye to terrorism, Nazi-ism and industrial levels of threats against individuals including their address and childrens schools being published online all from ananoymous accounts not real speech. They claim free speech. The fault is with the perps but also social media companies who think anonymous personas posting death threats constitutes free speech.

Yes I may rip them often for 8 X QF RWC exits & twice not even making it to the QF, but they’re a damn good team who many think can only improve, including me!
