The double jobbing Michael Cheika has named an Argentina team to take on England on Sunday that shows three changes - including the selection of Newcastle's Mateo Carreras - from the XV that completed The Rugby Championship with a loss to the Springboks in Durban on September 24.

Cheika is also currently involved with the Lebanon rugby league team that will contest a World Cup quarter-final on Friday night against Australia in Huddersfield ahead of the Pumas’ Autumn Nations Series opener in London.

Having lost to South Africa 38-21 to finish in fourth and last place in the TRC, Argentina have decided to go in against England with two different starting props as loosehead Thomas Gallo and tighthead Francisco Gomez-Kodela have been named in place of Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro and Eduardo Bello, who both drop to the bench.

The only other change made by Cheika to his Argentina XV is on the wing where Carreras is named at No14, resulting in Emiliano Boffelli switching to the left with Juan Imhoff dropping out. Carreras has lit up the Gallagher Premiership in England in recent weeks with Newcastle, scoring five tries in five appearances.

Named on the replacements bench that has a five forwards/three backs split is Eliseo Morales, an uncapped half-back. This split differs from England who have gone with six forwards and two backs in reserve.
