Principality Stadium statement: Rail strike called-off

A planned rail strike that was set to wreak havoc for those travelling to the Wales clash with the All Blacks in Cardiff has been called off, yet Principality Stadium management have struck an air of caution around the news.

The forecast severe restrictions on the normal train network will see an abnormal amount of fans taking to the roads to travel to the Test match. The M4 motorway is expected to be very busy and fans are urged to get to Cardiff as early as possible.

That messaging has not changed despite the strike being called off.

A statement reads: "In light of the recent announcement confirming the rail strike on Saturday 5th November has been cancelled, Principality Stadium has issued the following statement and message to supporters:

Mark Williams Principality Stadium Manager says: "Whilst the rail strike has been called off for tomorrow, the late notice means it is unlikely to impact the limited train services available. Our message to supporters attending the match remains the same; please plan your journey carefully, plan ahead, and aim to get into Cardiff as early as possible. We look forward to a full house for our opening of the Autumn Nations Series, Wales v New Zealand."
