Quade Cooper officially out of Test contention

The chances of Quade Cooper receiving a shock call-up for the Wallabies' three-Test series against Ireland next month have officially gone from slim to none.
The 30-year-old will be sidelined for up to a month after suffering an MCL injury while playing club rugby for Brisbane outfit Souths over the weekend.
"Gutted to be out of action for the next little bit as I've been enjoying my rugby so much but as we know injuries are part of the game," Cooper tweeted.
Cooper had been previously warned he would be out of contention for national selection if he wasn't playing Super Rugby.
The 70-test Wallaby hasn't appeared for the Queensland Reds - whom he is contracted to - this year after new head coach Brad Thorn told him before the season started that his services weren't needed.
Despite Thorn's dismissal, Cooper remains adamant on his quest to rejoin the Reds and Wallabies, sharing his goal in a series of tweets.
Cooper - who despite not being selected for the Reds is still making roughly A$650,000 a season - has turned down advances from rival Super Rugby clubs including the Brumbies and Melbourne Rebels.
He last appeared for the Australian national side in June last year.
Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika is set to name his squad for the Ireland series on Wednesday.

Good point IB.
Go to commentsThe attacking role for midfield backs is to create space for the wingers/full back to score and to provide support for them. It also helps if the halves move the ball with speed and accuracy at the outset to start the process off. On defence just don’t miss tackles. In recent seasons defence has usually been sound but attacking plays not so much. There are a number of combinations that could be effective but is of course the selectors/ coaches who decide that. Not easy.
