Quade Cooper's Wallabies freeze out appears to be over
Star Melbourne Rebels playmaker Quade Cooper is set to earn a recall to the Wallabies training squad after steering his new Super Rugby team to three straight wins.
Cooper is due to be included in the squad announced on Saturday for a three-day training camp in Sydney before jetting out to South Africa on Tuesday for two Rebels' Super Rugby matches.
The five-eighth turned in another impressive performance in their Friday night win over the Brumbies to push his hopes for a Test return ahead of this year's Rugby World Cup.
In a busy game he set up two important tries - finding Marika Koroibete to open the second half and then sending one soaring wide to young Wallabies winger Jack Maddocks for the 70th minute match-winner.

Cooper hasn't played a Test since taking on Italy in Brisbane in 2017 and his international career appeared over last year when he was frozen out at the Reds.
But the move south to the Rebels to resume his stellar halves partnership with Will Genia has reignited his hopes of Wallabies return.
Genia said after the Brumbies match Cooper didn't need to try to impress Wallabies coach Michael Cheika but just needed to maintain his consistency and he would find his way back.
"Quade has been consistent over the first three games and I'm sure he will be hoping that carries on through the season and if he does there's no reason why he can't get an opportunity in a gold jersey," Genia said.

we need a damaging 12 that takes 2 men to tackle that will take pressure off the 10 while also creating space for the 10 and 13 . Leicester is the only guy that fits the mould . The next thing is " will he be able to develop a good offload " ? .
for 13 Joey manu has more x factor then reiko and jordie put togeather . he's got one season in japan before he looks to come home . he's a dark horse but his skill set is something the All Blacks don't have . if he comes home and lights up the npc in a game or 2 , id love to see him fast tracked and come off the bench for the All Blacks and thrown into the deep end to see if he can swim . Just to see if he's worth the time and effort to develop further . We all saw how good sualii did for the wallabies and joey manu is just as good as sualii . He's safe under the high ball , a solid defender , has a master offload , and he's fast and strong .
he fits the mould for razor's offload tactics .
Plus reiko and jordie have had the 12 & 13 for how long and I haven't seen anything special from either of them .
