Queensland Reds drop second player within 24 hours
Following on from news earlier in the day that Quade Cooper was surplus to requirements, Queensland Reds head coach, Brad Thorn has now told Nick Frisby he is not part of his plans for the team.
Frisby has struggled for form throughout 2017, falling behind James Tuttle in the pecking order, but now Thorn has made the call to promote either young gun Hamish Stewart or Duncan Paia'aua.

"I've had honest conversations with Quade Cooper and Nick Frisby about where they currently sit in our plans for 2018," Thorn said.
"They’re not training with the Reds at the moment and will be training with their clubs instead."
The mercurial Cooper has been linked with a move to Japan having returned to the Super Rugby franchise last year following a short spell with Toulon, but looks set to be on the move again.
The playmaker, omitted from Australia's squad for the tour of the northern hemisphere, signed a three-year contract with Reds and the Australian Rugby Union, yet new coach Thorn has decided he is surplus to requirements.

February 2002 to be precise, when Michael D Higgins as finance minister at the time introduced his sports persons tax relief bill to the dial. As the politicians of the day stated “It seems to be another daft K Club frolic born in Kildare amongst the well-paid professional jockeys with whom the Minister plays golf” and that the scheme represented “a savage uncaring vision of Ireland and one that should be condemned”. The irfu and Leinster would be nowhere near the position they are in today without this key component of the finances.
