Reports: Maori All Blacks tour extends to South America

Reports from South America have the Maori All Blacks slated to take on Brazil and Chile in consecutive weekends in November.

The reports follow Chile's 15-try, 97-0 romp against Paraguay and a famous Brazilian 36-33 comeback victory against the Argentina XV in the 2018 Sudamericano 6 Naciones tournament.

The reported matches are set to take place after the Maori All Blacks take on the United States on November 3rd at Soldier Field as part of Chicago's 'Rugby Weekend' tripleheader.

The weekend in Chicago will be headlined by an international match between reigning Six Nations champions Ireland and Italy and a women's match between the New Zealand Black Ferns and USA Women's Eagles.

The matches in South America are scheduled to take place on November 10 (vs Brazil) and November 17 (vs Chile).

It will be the first time the Maori All Blacks have played in South America, and will be just the third and fourth time they have faced South American competition after hosting Argentina in 1997 and 2001.

The home matches are set to serve as preparation for the hosts ahead of the 2019 Americas Rugby Championship (ARC), the fourth edition of the annual competition currently contested between the USA, an Argentina XV, Canada, Uruguay as well as Brazil and Chile.

The United States are the most recent champions after becoming the first team to complete a tournament grand slam in 2018.

Brazil and Chile are currently ranked 26th and 30th in the world respectively.
