Reports of more coaching drama at Leicester

Matt Everard has left his role as defence coach of Leicester, the BBC has reported.

The 34-year-old joined Leicester from Wasps in November 2022, initially as an academy coach before stepping up to join the first-team coaching staff.

Leicester through and through, Everard grew up supporting the Tigers and went on to play for the club in the back row.

Everard’s coaching journey began at Nottingham, where he was head coach of the academy, and he spent five years at Wasps, as a valued member of Dai Young’s and then Lee Blackett’s coaching team.

In 2023/24, his first full season as defence coach, Leicester conceded the third-fewest points in the league, despite finishing eighth. Only two of the playoff teams, Sale and Saracens, had a better record.

It is understood that Everard hasn’t been sacked but recent heavy defeats won’t have gone down well with the club’s hierarchy, wherever the blame for that lies. Leicester have conceded an average of 36 points per game in their last five Premiership matches, including 54 at home to Bristol, and were also hit for 80 by Toulouse in the Investec Champions Cup.

This latest development adds further unrest to an already unstable situation at Welford Road. Since Richard Cockerill’s sacking in January 2017, the Tiger have had seven head coaches in almost as many years and are currently interviewing for another after it was confirmed that the latest incumbent, Michard Cheika, would be moving on after the end of this season after just one year in charge.

Speaking on BBC Radio’s Leicester Tigers Rugby Show, Leicester legend Tom Varndell said it’s another disappointing chapter in the club’s recent history, with the timing of the change also raising eyebrows.

“It was a bit of a shock as Matt Everard is a young coach who has got a bright future ahead of him, It’s just disappointing really,” the former England winger said.

“It’s an ongoing problem and has been an ongoing problem for quite a few seasons now, and they do need to sort it out.

“It can’t end up like football where they throw the baby out with the bath water. You have to stick with guys, to build that continuity, to build that consistency.”

The Tigers board have consistently shown themselves to be reactive to circumstances rather than proactive, Pinchen is clearly Miles out of her depth and Tom the Dinosaur should just bugger off to his care home.

Never has a club shown such a perchance to continually shoot itself in the foot.

Jesus wept.

Leinster cleanse palette with record URC scoreline against Zebre

My name is Solenn Bonnet, and I am a single mother navigating the challenges of raising my two-year-old child while trying to make ends meet. I came across a trading platform that promised astonishing daily profits of 18%. The allure of such a high return on investment was too tempting to resist, and I found myself drawn into cryptocurrency trading. Excited by the prospect of financial freedom, I invested a significant amount of my savings, totaling over 5.7 BTC. However, what started as a hopeful venture quickly turned into a nightmare. The platform was a scam, and I lost everything I had invested. The emotional toll of this loss was immense; I felt devastated and helpless, struggling to provide for my child and keep up with my bills. In my desperate attempt to recover my funds, I sought help from various recovery experts. Unfortunately, I encountered numerous fraudulent individuals who claimed they could help me retrieve my lost money. Each time I reached out, I was met with disappointment and further scams, which only deepened my despair. Last year was one of the most challenging periods of my life, filled with anxiety and uncertainty about my financial future. Feeling overwhelmed and at a loss, I confided in a close friend from church about my situation. She listened compassionately and shared her own experiences with financial difficulties. Understanding my plight, she introduced me to Tech Cyber Force Recovery, a group of skilled hackers known for their expertise in recovering lost funds. Skeptical yet hopeful, I decided to reach out to them as a last resort. Their services came at a higher cost, but my friend generously offered to help me with a partial payment. I was amazed by how quickly they responded and began the recovery process. Their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire ordeal. To my relief, they successfully recovered more than I had lost to those heartless scammers. This was truly transformative, and I felt a sense of relief and gratitude that I hadn’t felt in a long time. I strongly encourage anyone who has faced similar challenges or fallen victim to scams to reach out to Tech Cyber Force Recovery. If you’ve invested in a fraudulent platform like I did, they are highly capable of helping you reclaim your hard-earned money. Don’t lose hope; there is a way to recover what you’ve lost.
