Safety and security concerns scupper a money-spinning Kolbe deal

Springboks superstar Cheslin Kolbe has reportedly said no to the opportunity of re-joining the Stormers. According to Netwerk24, the Toulon-based player was presented with a five-year contract with the value of ZAR55million (€3.2m), which also included employment for his wife. However, the lucrative offer was turned down.

It was also reported that the offer included a condition to allow Kolbe and his family to stay in France until January 2023. This would allow them to qualify for French citizenship.

According to another well-known South African rugby publication, SA Rugby Magazine, Kolbe had agreed to the Stormers offer in principle before he changed his mind. That report mentioned that Kolbe had safety and security concerns.

The report read: “SARugbymag.co.za has been reliably informed that the Toulon star agreed to the offer in principle before he shocked the decision-makers at WP Rugby with a sudden change of heart. It is understood that Kolbe, represented by Roc Nation, turned down the blockbuster deal on the basis of ‘safety and security’ concerns.

“He famously dodged the perils of being exposed to gangsterism as a youth but if he now believed Cape Town posed a security risk, it raises questions over why his family continues to reside in Kraaifontein and why he would be identified as an ambassador for Investec SA.”

Despite turning down a return to Cape Town, it is believed that Kolbe does have plans to return to South Africa after the 2023 World Cup, but it will be in the colours of the Sharks. Kolbe is represented by Roc Nation, who entered into a partnership with the Sharks last year.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old is currently on the sidelines as he is recovering from a fractured jaw which he suffered in the third Test against Wales in Cape Town in July. He played no part in the Springboks’ two Rugby Championship matches against the All Blacks in South Africa and he wasn’t included in the tour squad to Australia.

I smell a rat. As @Dale said, players earning that kind of salary are able to build the kind of life, safe and secure, wherever they choose. Sounds to ma as if ROc Nation are funneling players in their stable to the sharks

I call bullshit. People earning 14 million Rand live in gated communities, drive around in small tanks, and don't even do their own shopping. Not all neighborhoods in SA are that dangerous anyway.

Leinster cleanse palette with record URC scoreline against Zebre

My name is Solenn Bonnet, and I am a single mother navigating the challenges of raising my two-year-old child while trying to make ends meet. I came across a trading platform that promised astonishing daily profits of 18%. The allure of such a high return on investment was too tempting to resist, and I found myself drawn into cryptocurrency trading. Excited by the prospect of financial freedom, I invested a significant amount of my savings, totaling over 5.7 BTC. However, what started as a hopeful venture quickly turned into a nightmare. The platform was a scam, and I lost everything I had invested. The emotional toll of this loss was immense; I felt devastated and helpless, struggling to provide for my child and keep up with my bills. In my desperate attempt to recover my funds, I sought help from various recovery experts. Unfortunately, I encountered numerous fraudulent individuals who claimed they could help me retrieve my lost money. Each time I reached out, I was met with disappointment and further scams, which only deepened my despair. Last year was one of the most challenging periods of my life, filled with anxiety and uncertainty about my financial future. Feeling overwhelmed and at a loss, I confided in a close friend from church about my situation. She listened compassionately and shared her own experiences with financial difficulties. Understanding my plight, she introduced me to Tech Cyber Force Recovery, a group of skilled hackers known for their expertise in recovering lost funds. Skeptical yet hopeful, I decided to reach out to them as a last resort. Their services came at a higher cost, but my friend generously offered to help me with a partial payment. I was amazed by how quickly they responded and began the recovery process. Their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire ordeal. To my relief, they successfully recovered more than I had lost to those heartless scammers. This was truly transformative, and I felt a sense of relief and gratitude that I hadn’t felt in a long time. I strongly encourage anyone who has faced similar challenges or fallen victim to scams to reach out to Tech Cyber Force Recovery. If you’ve invested in a fraudulent platform like I did, they are highly capable of helping you reclaim your hard-earned money. Don’t lose hope; there is a way to recover what you’ve lost.
