Scotland lock Gilchrist extends Edinburgh stay
Scotland lock Grant Gilchrist has signed a new two-year-deal with Pro12 side Edinburgh.
Gilchrist has been capped 16 times by his country, but played just once during the Six Nations, in their 29-0 win over Italy.
Edinburgh have endured a tough season in Pro12 and are ninth after 19 matches.
Former Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill will be head coach next season, though, and Gilchrist is looking forward to the challenges ahead.
"I'm absolutely delighted to re-sign with Edinburgh Rugby," Gilchrist told the club's official website.
"Admittedly it's been a tough year and we're disappointed with recent results but I'm looking forward to helping the club move forward. I'm excited to see what this group can produce over the next few seasons."

To say he and Richie worked well together at the Crusaders is a massive understatement. 7 titles speaks for itself. He then guided Brave Lupus to the Japanese League title in 2024. It worked well when Richie's fellow Crusaders great Matt Todd and team mate ,was able to play for the All Blacks while in Japan in 2018.
