But you’re not wrong when you say the average standard isn’t what it once was, ironically this is driven by the fact that a large number of 2nd and 3rd tier players have already gone abroad (meaning our young players get exposed far earlier than traditionally) and to a lesser extent, we’re not being as exposed to other playing styles (Argentina and SA).

I suspect we’ll end up with a model closer to Aussie’s than South Africa’s but that will still be at the detriment to our domestic game.

Now I warrant there is criticism to be made about Clayton with tactic of going up the guts vs Blues but based on his comments, sounds like that sits with the game drivers rather than gameplan.

Credit to the Blues for weathering the storm in first half and playing very well in the second…Beaudy was frustratingly brilliant. Fact of the matter though is this wasn’t a knockout game for the Chiefs so the Sititi decision is understandable.
