Sonny Bill Williams responds after being named on YouTuber Jake Paul's 'hit list'
Former All Black Sonny Bill Williams has publicly responded after YouTuber Jake Paul had put him on his 'hit list' of potential boxing opponents.
The YouTuber turned boxer was discussing his next fight plans with Teddy Atlas' podcast The Fight when he dropped Williams as a potential opponent.
"We’re still locking down opponents, there’s a lot of names,” Paul told Atlas.
“Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping, Tommy Fury, Sonny Williams (sic) out of Australia.
“There’s a lot of people on the hit list.”
Williams took to Twitter to respond to Paul's comments, writing 'if he wants some he can get it' but said he was respectful of Paul's achievements after launching a fight career.
The dual code international completed his latest boxing bout against former AFL player Barry Hall last month, knocking him out in the first round.
Williams' victory kept his perfect record in tact as he stretched his unbeaten record to 9-0.
Paul also sports an unbeaten record of 5-0 with four knockout victories in his short boxing career so far. His opponents include fellow YouTuber personality Deji Olatunji, former NBA player Nate Robinson and ex-UFC stars Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.
The 25-year-old American stands at 1.85m compared to Williams at 1.91m, giving the former All Black a height advantage should they get into the ring in what would be a multi-million dollar event.
