Sopoaga injury gives Highlanders a scare
Highlanders fans still can't rest easy even after Lima Sopoaga confirmed his Achilles is safe.
Sopoaga left Friday night's clash against the Chiefs just six minutes into the game, hobbling off the field after going down with a non-contact injury following a routine kick.
The 27-year-old confirmed on Twitter that the injury was not as bad as it looked.
Highlanders coach Aaron Mauger confirmed the same during a post-match interview.
"He's just jammed a couple of bones up, so not as bad as we first thought when he came off," said Mauger.
"It didn't look good, did it? It was a little bit concerning but hopefully it's not too bad and we'll get more of an idea tomorrow."
The Wasps-bound flyhalf will have a week off to nurse his injury as the Highlanders now have their second bye of the season before taking on the Brumbies at Forsyth Barr Stadium on April 14.
