Springboks confirm their six-game home fixtures schedule for 2025
Rassie Erasmus’ Springboks will host a half-dozen Test matches at home in South Africa in 2025 following Wednesday’s confirmation of their fixture list. The back-to-back Rugby World Cup champions ended their 2024 schedule with a comprehensive win over Wales in Cardiff last Saturday.
They have since had seven players named in the World Rugby men’s 15 dream team for the year while also learning that Pieter-Steph du Toit had won the World Rugby player of the year award at the Sunday night ceremony in Monaco.
Turning their attention to next year, the Springboks have now announced a two-Test series with Italy and a one-off match versus Georgia next July before their Rugby Championship title defence features the hosting twice of Australia in August and then Argentina once in September.
An SA Rugby statement read: “The Springboks will welcome Italy, Georgia, Australia and Argentina to South Africa in 2025. Italy will visit South Africa for the first time since 2013 when they face the Boks on July 5 and 12. Dating back to their first visit in 1999, the Azzurri have only played seven Tests in South Africa before.
“A week later, the Boks will take on Georgia on home soil for the second time, in line with World Rugby’s plans to expose emerging nations to top tier opposition. The Lelos played one Test against South Africa in Pretoria in 2021, as prelude to the pandemic-impacted tour of the British and Irish Lions.
“The Boks will start the defence of their Castle Lager Rugby Championship crown against the Wallabies, who host the British and Irish Lions in July, on August 16 and 23. Away Tests against the All Blacks in New Zealand follow on September 6 and 13 before the Boks wrap up The Rugby Championship at home (September 27) and away (October 4) against Argentina.
“SA Rugby will confirm venues and kick-off times at a later stage. Details of the venues for the All Blacks Tests, the away match in Argentina and the November tour to Europe will also be announced in due course.”

Then your people must be damn stupid to follow suit. You better start a toy-toy movement, because they are currently in talks to sell the "springbuck". Sorry, I forgot - you people don't do the toy toying - that's the other part of the springbok supporters role right?
Go to commentsIt’s just that we see a lot of comments saying the same things : We will never win a World Cup, we’re too afraid to play away from home. The only thing I want to point out is that, as long as summer tours will take place around June/July, we won’t be sending out A team since Top 14 finales are way more important for the players, for the fan, for the club than friendly Internationals.
I just can’t understand why one particular community (hello Saffas) are so whiny when it comes to French rugby. We get it guys, you are the best team that has ever existed, you won the cup in France, congrats! that’s what you wanna hear?
I just want to point out that as long as you cannot understand the importance of our club culture and top 14, you will never understand the main reason why we send developing team in our summer tours. The average attendance of a safas club during URC is 43% (Stormers) while here in France we have 4 to 5 clubs that have an average attendance at 100%. La Rochelle plays in a full stadium for 8 years!
Off course it’ll help us playing with our A team the best teams in the world, and we would do it if we can play around August to December
