Steve Tandy has addressed rumours around Dan Biggar's Ospreys future

By Peter Thompson
Ospreys and Wales fly-half Dan Biggar

Steve Tandy knows Ospreys may struggle to match offers made to Dan Biggar, but believes the Wales fly-half will not be affected by reported interest from Northampton Saints.

Biggar is entering the final year of his National Dual Contract.and Premiership side Saints are said to be readying a lucrative deal in a bid to lure him to Franklin's Gardens ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Ospreys coach Tandy is aware that the British and Irish Lion could earn more money outside his homeland, but said the 27-year-old remains committed to the Swansea-based Pro14 club.

"Comparing Welsh regions to English and French teams, sometimes you can't compete with some of their valuations," he told BBC Wales Sport.

"I haven't really spoken much to him about it. He is just focusing on getting the rugby right for the Ospreys. On the rugby front it is as it is."

Asked if talk about his future might have a negative impact on Biggar, Tandy added: "No. I have never met anyone who can compartmentalise so much. He is pretty unique in that.

"You can have a couple of bust-ups with him along the way, but you can have it out, walk out on the grass and he is just focused on the rugby.

"That's the really pleasing thing about Biggs. There is no better guy for that, and he's really focused when he's on the paddock."
