Super Round clash between Moana Pasifika and Force postponed due to Covid
COVID-19 cases in the Western Force squad have forced their Super Rugby Pacific clash with Moana Pasifika to be postponed.
The game was set for Friday at AAMI Park as part of Melbourne's Super Round, which was to feature all 12 sides and the Super W finals at the same venue across three days.
The postponement will be the fourth this season involving competition newcomers Pasifika.
Force CEO Tony Lewis said "considerable numbers" of cases made it the only option.
"We have made every effort possible to assist in making this game go ahead," he said.
"Despite looking at multiple player replacement options, the number of players affected is simply too great,"
"We'd like to thank Moana Pasifika for their understanding, and we look forward to meeting them at a later date."
The Force (2-6) sit just inside the top eight that will contest finals, with Pasifika (1-7) are just one win back.
