Tebaldi out of Wales clash as Italy call up Makelara

Tito Tebaldi will miss Italy’s Six Nations clash with Wales on Saturday, courtesy of the back problem that forced him to miss last weekend’s defeat to Scotland.

Scrum-half Tebaldi was named in Conor O’Shea’s line-up to face Scotland but pulled out after suffering an injury in the warm-up at Murrayfield, with his place going to Guglielmo Palazzani.

Tebaldi has now been released from Italy’s squad for the Wales game and will be re-evaluated ahead of the clash with Ireland a fortnight later.

Italy added veteran number nine Edoardo Gori to their squad on Sunday, together with Zebre hooker Oliviero Fabiani.

However, Fabiani has now been withdrawn from the group after a second evaluation of his condition, with the uncapped Engjel Makelara of Benetton Treviso taking his place.

Yeah, It’s amazing to see the depth that Springboks is creating by introducing New Talent that New Zealand is still selecting old one legged injured players to try and win 2027 RWC! The AB’s could have used these games against France to Test the future of NZR young talent as France did! I say watch this French side in 2 years time and Springboks then we will see the real number 1 team in the World? Come on guys look at what Australia did JS, he took a gamble and put the future forward by using Young Aussie talent, brilliant! When are the AB’s going to learn only when they are sitting at the bottom of World Ratings, this is not rugby when NZR and NZ public are now becoming the fence sitters and hoping for a worldly hope that the Pacific island hoppers of past are going safe the AB’s? Yes my preference would be Reihana who comprehensively outplayed DMac in the pressure of a super rugby final.

It was scenario where you would expect a seasoned international with many years of experience to outplay the rookie in his first big match.

That's why he just won't cut the mustard at a RWC.
