Townsend names youthful Scottish squad
Gregor Townsend has included six uncapped players and named Stuart McInally as captain for Scotland's tour of Canada, the United States and Argentina next month.
Townsend has selected a young 33-man squad, with an average age of 25 and just two players aged 30 or over.
Edinburgh duo Lewis Carmichael and Jamie Ritchie will be hoping to win their first caps, along with Glasgow Warriors back-row Matt Fagerson.
Glasgow's George Horne and Adam Hastings have been called up, while Harlequins fly-half James Lang is also in line for an international bow.
Hooker McInally will lead his country in the absence of the rested John Barclay.
Luke Crosbie (knee), John Hardie (back), Huw Jones (wrist), Willem Nel (knee) and Hamish Watson (shoulder) miss out due to injury.

Mad how this somehow contained absolutely zero information.
Go to commentsI’m looking forward to attending the Twickenham match, I don’t think it will have a bearing on the outcome of the grand prize itself but it will tell us more about each teams’ preparation and game plan. It’s hard to look past one of the big four (I’m including Canada) lifting the trophy in 2025 but sport is a curious thing, there will still be twists and turns in road ahead.
