Van Rensburg cleared for tackle that sent Steenson 'into 2021'
Sale Sharks centre Rohan Janse Van Rensburg can continue playing immediately after being cited for a dangerous tackle.
Van Rensburg was reported for a dangerous tackle on Exeter fly-half Gareth Steenson during a Gallagher Premiership game 11 days ago.
He had been yellow-carded following a high tackle on Steenson, but the dangerous tackle citing was dismissed by an independent disciplinary panel.
“The panel carefully considered the footage in conjunction with the high tackle sanction framework,” panel chairman Sam Hillas said, in a statement released by the Rugby Football Union.
“The panel found, on the balance of probabilities, that there had not been contact with the player’s shoulder to the head of Gareth Steenson.
“As such, the panel considered the correct sanction was a yellow card and the citing was dismissed.”

I'm flabbergasted that our pundits are so obsessed with a poor substitution and have failed to notice the only time we got anywhere near the tryline was an interception. England have no attack. It's a shambles and it's exactly what I've always expected from Borthers and the Wiggler.
