Venues for England's June test series in South Africa confirmed
The South African Union have today announced the test venues for England's southern hemisphere tests next June.
England will face the Springboks in a three-Test series in Johannesburg (9 June), Bloemfontein (16 June) and Cape Town (23 June).
The last time England toured South Africa was in 2012 losing their first two Tests before drawing the final match.
Eddie Jones, England head coach, said: “A three-Test series against South Africa is going to be a big challenge but a fantastic opportunity for this team. England have only ever won three games in South Africa so we have a chance to create some history by winning the series.”
England last played South Africa in November 2016 at Twickenham Stadium during the Old Mutual Wealth Series, winning 37-21, their first win against the Springboks in a decade. England have not won a Test in South Africa since Bloemfontein in 2000 and out of the 13 Tests between the two countries in South Africa, the home team has won nine, lost three and drawn one.
SA Rugby CEO Jurie Roux said: “Under Eddie Jones the English have re-established themselves as one of the powerhouses of world rugby – they have only lost one Test in the last two seasons. Our history against England goes back more than a century and we are looking forward to welcoming them back to South Africa next year in what promises to be a tough tour. In 2012, they played in Johannesburg, but it’s been 10 years since they last visited Bloemfontein, while the Test in Cape Town will be England’s first visit to the Mother City since 1998.”
June Series 2018 – South Africa v England:
9 June: Emirates Airline Park, Johannesburg
16 June: Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein
23 June: DHL Newlands, Cape Town
Kick-off times to be confirmed

Let’s make them both Capt. I think we'd get the best of both of them and it would help alleviate some of the pressures of the role. They'd have to confer over on field decisions which should lead to “ learnings “ for both. They are our two best consistent performers.
Go to commentsForget what was said or how many players said it. TONY BROWN IS THE NEW ATTACK COACH. That’s the only story worth freaking out over. The springboks are going to grow their game an awful lot over the next cycle and it’s not just the 19 disgustingly arrogant Irish players who refused to shake Ebens hand and said “see you in the final if you can cheat your way past France” who will find that out first hand.
