I suppose all global sports milk what they can but it feels exploitive at times with rugby. A RWC final orna decisive 3rd test in a blockbuster series is comparable to a FIFA world cup final or a superbowl. Revenues and advertising is significant and yet it's the rugby players who are paid peanuts and for much greater risk.

I think the sport is still driven by older fans who appreciate the sacrifices and have seen both sides of the game from amatuer through to professionalism and what's now probably post-professionalism.
