Video - 'I'll work my *** off' to make Fiji RWC team - Radradra

By Nick Heath

Fijian Semi Radradra has been named in the Barbarians starting line-up to face England at Twickenham on Sunday and admitted he was shocked to get the call up.

After an impressive season with Toulon, Radradra will be stepping out with the famous invitational side on Sunday, no doubt bidding to impress with just sixteen months until the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Radradra told RugbyPass, “I always want to show my talent to the world, to try to play good footy every week and show what I've got.”

Having played rugby league for Paramatta Eels as recently as last year, Radradra has hopes of attracting the eye of Flying Fijians head coach John McKee with a view to rugby union's biggest event next year. He will be moving to Bordeaux from September having signed a two year contract.

He commented, “It would be a huge honour to be selected for the World Cup, but I'm just going to work my ass off and hopefully they'll pick me. I think they see me as a 13 but I've got a lot to work on. It would be a privilege for me just to play alongside the brothers.”

Fiji missed out on the knock out stages of the 2015 Rugby World Cup but following their Olympic Sevens gold medal in Rio, the world's most passionate rugby nation will have high hopes as the Pacific islanders get set to face Australia, Wales, Georgia and Uruguay in Pool B.

RugbyPass also spoke to Chris Ashton ahead of his first match against England.
