Scarlets shows that you can do skills, even in the Northern Hemisphere

Scarlets are second in Conference B after Gareth Davies scored one try and laid on another in a 28-8 bonus-point win over Edinburgh.

Some of the rugby played on the night exploded the myth that Northern Hemisphere are unable to put the ball through the hands. The Champions' 62nd minute try for a bonus point was a case in point.

Some of the handling was just sheer magic to behold.

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill praised his side’s character despite losing against Scarlets.

“I thought our effort, our mentality and our endeavour deserved more out of the game. We made Scarlets work for the win and there’s a lot we can build on there.

“This is part of the learning curve – they are the champions – and they are better than us. But they weren’t hugely better than us and we’ve got to keep building on that.

“I thought parts of our performance were very good because Scarlets are a good side and they’ve got very good players. I wanted commitment from our players and I wanted them to stay in the battle and I thought we did tonight. We need to go to Leinster with the same mindset.”

I haven't really experienced the Irish as arrogant but I guess the players maybe got ahead of themselves after a big win. Just thought it being Ireland and their love afair with WC QF exits and it being the ABs maybe they would have taken it a bit more seriously. Maybe they did and just lost anyways, who knows.
