Wasps extend contract for 6'5, 121kg Levi Douglas
Wasps have handed out a new contract to Levi Douglas, with the young second row doing enough to impress despite making just one appearance for the Gallagher Premiership side since signing a short-term contract.
The 25-year-old joined Wasps on a short-term deal back in August for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. Douglas has now put pen to paper on a deal to secure his longer-term future at Wasps, the club have confirmed.
The 6'5, 121kg second-row has made one appearance for Wasps to date, in the 54-7 win against Leicester Tigers in September.
The former Oyonnax forward also made 32 appearances for Bath, in a four-year stint in the west country.
Wasps Head Coach, Lee Blackett, said: “We are delighted that Levi has agreed to extend his stay at Wasps. He has shown his quality in training in the short time he has been with us and hopefully he will get more opportunities to show that quality on the pitch in the coming months.”
Levi Douglas added: “I am buzzing to have extended my time here at Wasps. It allows me to continue to be a part of the great journey this club is on. It’s also a great place for me to continue to develop as a player.”

Excellent analysis Nick as we have come to expect. I was not really aware that NFL strategies have been adopted by rugby teams, especially in defence. One point I would make is that the Northhampton attacking player on the end of the chain in the video examples has not maintained the correct depth to be effective. In the footage shown the outside player is too flat to make the best of the opportunity his inside players have provided. In each case they have to reduce speed and turn their body backwards to secure the ball, losing all momentum and giving the impressive scrambling defence the chance to shut down the threat.
