Watch: All Black Jordie Barrett scores for Leinster on club debut
All Black recruit Jordie Barrett capped off his club debut for Leinster with a try against Bristol Bears in the 35-12 win in the Champions Cup.
The midfielder came on at half-time with the two sides locked at 7-all in a tense match. An early second half try to flyhalf Sam Prendergast opened a small lead before Barrett's score triggered an avalanche of tries.
Barrett replaced fullback Ciaran Frawley in the No 15 jersey and didn't take long to slice through Bristol's defence, beating a handful of defenders to score under the posts for Leinster.
With just two carries in the game, Barrett finished with a try and try assist while logging 10 tackles on defence.
"It was quite nice getting a feel for the match, I've only been here about 10 days," Barrett told Premier Sports post-match.
"Robbie Henshaw and Garry Ringrose have been great this week and made my job a lot easier.
"It's been a long eight days since the last game but I'm loving my time in Dublin.
"My body was in good condition when I left Italy a few weeks ago. I was actually chomping at the bit to get an opportunity with Leinster.
"I know its been in the making for six or so months now. I couldn't wait to get to Dublin around some great coaches, great players. The city of Dublin and even people all across the other provinces in Ireland have been outstanding, so I've enjoyed it so far.
"At the age I am, I wanted to come up here and test myself in these European games."

Can't play the game without refs , respect the decisions and walk away. Should have had 6 weeks on the bounce
Go to commentsIt should make El-Abd's job easier - at least in theory... England were averaging 203 tackle attempts per game in the autumn - way more than anyone else bar Wales.
If they can keep more of the ball they don't have to make so many. That policy might work with Underhill still at 7 but almost certainly would work better with both Willis and Earl in the B/R.
