Watch: Another piece of Fekitoa magic sets up Tuisova
Former All Black Malakai Fekitoa is striking up some combination with Fijian winger Josua Tuisova at Toulon.
Against Agen, the 26-year-old midfielder pulled off this beautiful no-look flick pass to free Tuisova down the right-hand side, who went in untouched. It comes one week after Fekitoa had another miraculous assist, batting the ball back in play from over the dead ball line to provide a try for his side, Tuisova again the beneficiary.
The performances of the star recruit will no doubt be keeping Toulon owner and president Mourad Boudjellal happy. In a telling interview with the New Zealand Herald, Fekitoa spoke about what it is like to have a relationship with the outspoken figure.
"He's pretty direct. If he's not happy, he'll tell you face-to-face that he does not like you," he explained.
"One day he told me that I did not have a good game. The next match, I was good so he shook my hand. That's how it is. He just wants to win. Most of the time, he does not talk to you unless he is not happy. Rugby is different here.
"For him, it's just business here, that's why I realised I had to worry about what's good for me, he's doing what's right for him. "
The ex-Highlanders midfielder expressed a desire to one day represent the All Blacks again, opening the door to potential return to New Zealand.
“Many people believe I’m out but I’m too young to give up on that. I want to play at the highest level again. I want to put my hand up and get picked,” he said.
Fekitoa scored a try himself in the dying stages as Toulon notched their second win of the season, a convincing 33-3 win over Agen to lift themselves into 10th position in the Top 14. Another All Black Liam Messam also notched his first try of the season for his new team.

Those are pretty good draws for the two top Aussie teams. I certainly wouldn't want my Chiefs to have a quarter final in Brisbane. None of the top teams will want the Crusaders.
Go to commentsHonestly, I am a bit lost here …. Ireland - RSA was (at least in my opinion) perhaps (from a purely technical / rugby-skills-show point of view) the pinnacle of the RWC2023 - almost flawless playing (putting aside the kicking of RSA which was the difference between the two teams), rugby at it’s very best …. if I were a Bok and after the game some Irish lads came around saying “see you in 5 weeks same place”, I definitely wouldn’t have thought of it as being in any way “arrogant”, rather a sort of jolly “if we both continue to play like this, no one could stop us” - besides, few of us fans would have, at that time, been surprised to see the same teams playing on 23 september and 28 october 2023 ….. well, we all know Ireland chose to hit a slump to keep the QF curse alive …..
