Watch: Cheslin Kolbe's latest try for Toulon shows why you should never give up
Toulon's high profile recruit Cheslin Kolbe has scored a stunning try against Lyon in their top 14 clash over the weekend.
Early in the second half Kolbe pulled off a stunning against-the-odds try that only was possible due to the Springbok's persistence chasing a kick to touch.
Toulon's Baptiste Serin looked to kick deep into Lyon territory after receiving a penalty in their own half, and the 28-year-old winger was the only Toulon player that gave that.
What happened next was part luck, part skill as Lyon's left wing N. Nakaitaci batted the ball back into the field of play, only for the bounce to wickedly veer away from the nearest Lyon player.
Kolbe was there to scoop up the loose ball and then skinned the two Lyon players down the narrowest of corridors.
The Springboks made Lyon pay the ultimate price for Nakaitaci's error that remarkably, he could not have foreseen happening and only came up due to his effort chase.
Lyon were only down 10-11 before the play but Kolbe's try broke the game open as Toulon went on to score five tries in a 43-10 win.
The saying that 'players make their own luck' could not be more true for this situation as Kolbe showed why that every kick should be chased.

Ben Smith you really make some good points in this article, the Springboks were not close to perfect and good still beat the All Blacks, imagine if they were as good as they were against France what a hiding the All Blacks would have gotten… maybe another Twickenham drubbing
Go to commentsIt is a good argument to keep the Rebels for one more year but also isnt this just opening the door as well for keeping them beyond 2025. If they can create some sort of financial stability in the next year and if their performances lift as they have this season then how would RA even cull them after that? It might be the most cost effective decision at this stage and perhaps many people are guilty of keeping relationships going because of the cost to decouple but then again when does that ever work out well?
