Watch: Courtney Lawes goes from hero to zero costing England victory against the All Blacks... twice
England replacement lock Courtney Lawes went from hero to zero after a marginal offside call ruled out a potentially match-winning try by Sam Underhill.
Lawes charged down a Perenara box kick just on halfway before two All Blacks collided and sent the ball straight into the path Underhill, who went 40-metres to score in the corner, turning Beauden Barrett inside out. With just five minutes remaining the score would have surely sealed England's win. Instead, the All Blacks held a slim 16-15 lead.
With two minutes remaining England had possession pushing into the All Blacks' 22 before Lawes pushed a wild offload above the head of Henry Slade, who knocked on with an outstretched hand, costing Owen Farrell and England a chance of taking a last-minute drop goal.
The TMO's decision to disallow Underhill's try has again divided opinion, with many on both sides of the argument given the fine line between being offside at a ruck.

Rest is for namby pamby sissies, I see. True men should overcome their trifling injuries by playing week in, week out. Bidwell’s stance reminds me of a Jon Gadsby character from the 70s, a rugby captain giving an after-match speech: “It was a very physical contest. One of our players caught a boot on the back of his head in a ruck, and he died, actually. But to his credit, he played on.”
Go to commentsI still see nothing in Sotutus play that hes changed his upright running style that failed so many times against decent international defences like the french. Other than that… Iose? Well you have covered his limitations well. If Sititi had been playing the the season… Jacobson? Grace?…Neither shout pick me. So Ardie it is.
