Watch- Finn Russell sets up wonder try in first Bath start
Finn Russell showed the rest of the Gallagher Premiership why Bath signed him on Saturday as he faced the reigning champions Saracens at the StoneX Stadium.
The Scotland fly-half did not make a great start in his first outing in the Bath XV- being charged down for Saracens' opening try of the match. However, he was able to bounce back a few minutes later by producing a piece of skill that few in the world can replicate.
The 31-year-old glided through a half gap in Saracens' defence but lost his balance after breaking the line. But he was able to get a five metre, one handed pass to teammate to fullback Tom de Glanville, who ran in for the try.
It was a piece of skill of the highest calibre, and shows what the Scot is going to bring to the Rec over the coming season.

After coming off the bench last week in a victory over Newcastle Falcons, Bath head coach Johann van Graan described Russell's performance as "calm – a very solid first performance,” and it was obviously enough to give him the No10 jersey for the trip to London to take on the champions.

Let’s make them both Capt. I think we'd get the best of both of them and it would help alleviate some of the pressures of the role. They'd have to confer over on field decisions which should lead to “ learnings “ for both. They are our two best consistent performers.
Go to commentsForget what was said or how many players said it. TONY BROWN IS THE NEW ATTACK COACH. That’s the only story worth freaking out over. The springboks are going to grow their game an awful lot over the next cycle and it’s not just the 19 disgustingly arrogant Irish players who refused to shake Ebens hand and said “see you in the final if you can cheat your way past France” who will find that out first hand.
