Watch: Israel Folau hammered in colossal game-saving tackle to seal historic Pumas win

By RugbyPass

With less than 10 seconds remaining, Argentina held a slim 4-point lead with the Wallabies hot on attack looking to steal one at the death at Robina Stadium on the Gold Coast.

With one last sweeping movement, Israel Folau looked certain to setup a try for the men in green and gold and break Argentina's hearts. Drifting across field, Folau danced outside his man and had Bernard Foley wide open as he glided towards the tryline. Instead of passing to Foley in what would have been a certain try, Folau cutback into a 'Blue Wall' and was cut in half by some inspirational Argentinian defence, losing the ball in the process and sealing a historic win for the Pumas.

A two-man tackle from fullback Emiliano Boffelli and flanker Pablo Matera dislodged the ball and stopped Folau, who will rue the decision to go himself. This was perhaps a perfect example of why many think his best position is on the wing.

Argentina have now won two matches in The Rugby Championship for the first time, while Australia have slumped to another loss and now have to travel on the road for their remaining games with just one win on the board. The result capped off the best week so far in The Rugby Championship, with both games coming down to the wire and both home teams being upset.
