Watch: Joey Carbery ices Munster win with sniping try in star performance
A week after overcoming a fired up Johnny Sexton and Leinster outfit, Munster out-half Joey Carbery showed his class again by scoring a match-deciding try against Connacht, putting his side up 31-17.
The elusive number 10 carved a right foot step to cut past a sliding Connacht defender before beating one more to dive over after switching to fullback for the final period.
Carbery converted all four Munster tries and added a penalty in Munster's 31-24 win.
It capped an all-round performance from Carbery who collected man of the match honours in Galway, pipping Connacht centre Tom Farrell who pressed his claims for a Six Nations campaign with an impressive performance in a losing side.
Munster sit atop of Conference A in the Guinness Pro14 with nine wins from 13 matches, while rivals Leinster top Conference B with 11 wins from 13 matches. Munster's win propelled them to the top after Glasgow lost to Treviso.
Johann Van Graan's side will now turn their attention to Champions Cup pool play, with a key away fixture against Gloucester next weekend.

All I can say after reading this bitter, sour, sad piece is… Thank you very much! This will be read in the change room just before kick off on 31 August…
Go to commentsForget the 85kg bit, that can become something else. However I do like the one off test on ANZAC day idea. SR plays Fri/ Sat, test players travel Sunday and the squads have the full week together before playing Saturday. Rest of SR has a week off. Either involve women's teams in same location or in the other country and rotate annually. Herbert is right in that change is needed.
