Watch: Johnny Sexton throws Joey Carbery to the ground before standing over him in taunting display
Yesterday's Munster vs. Leinster derby clash was a throwback to the ill-tempered days of old where no love was lost, even between ex-teammates.
In the third scuffle of the match, one that spilled over the sideline after a high-shot from Conor Murray, Leinster out-half Johnny Sexton found young rival Joey Carbery and threw him to the ground with a 'horse collar' before standing over him and appearing to deliver a few choice words.
The taunting display sparked memories of Sexton's overzealous try celebration standing over another Munster outhalf, Ronan O'Gara.
Sexton's ugly display didn't go unnoticed by fans, with some labeling it 'petulant' and a 'disgrace', calling into question his leadership role with Ireland.
Two incidents were visibly clear between Sexton and Carbery, the collar-pull throwing him to the ground and an unsavoury knee at the bottom of a ruck that left him in visible discomfort.
When queried in a post-match interview, Sexton remained coy advising he did not recall the incidents and that 'it's just something that happens in a rugby match'.
Leinster received two yellow cards and one red in a match marred by ill-discipline on both sides, which erupted early and often after dangerous high-tackles.
"It doesn't take a scientist to work out that it was discipline that probably cost us the game," Sexton told eir Sport after the game.

Crusaders went all in to buy Hotham and Kemara staight from Hamilton Boys. Then they picked up Reihana and Hohepa; all have been dropped for superstar Havili, who is a very good fullback, that’s it. Ennor and Goodhue were schoolboy stars too but went backwards at the Crusaders. Maybe they have finally decided to give another poach Levi Aumua the ball?
