Watch: Kiwi fullback produces contender for try assist of the year just days into 2019
By Online Editors
Former All Black Rudi Wolf has scored the simplest of tries against Montpellier after a stunning assist from Kiwi fullback Toby Arnold that will go close to being the assist of the year.
After dislodging the ball in a tackle by Wolf, Lyon spread wide to Arnold who kicked ahead into the open pastures. The ball took an unfortunate bounce, veering towards the sideline only to be saved by a diving Arnold who flicked it back fortuitously into the path of the supporting Wolf, bouncing up for the easiest of tries.
It was Lyon's only try of the match but proved pivotal as they won 22-14.
Where does this effort rate for Lyon fullback Toby Arnold?

SBW’s bro’town commentary and lazy default to hyperbole should be ignored, a technical analyst he is not. Sotutu is a good player when games get goosey loosey, high skill set that fans of Zinzan recall with starry eyes. But you need power and mongrel at no8 in the Test arena and Sotutu gets found wanting there, much like Akira Ioane. No8’s like Zinzan and Ardie have bucketloads of mongrel and power and tenacity which allow the skill sets to flourish.
