Watch: Quade Cooper spotted during act of kindness
Days before he makes his debut with his new Super Rugby club, Rebels five-eighth Quade Cooper has been spotted performing an incredible act of kindness in Melbourne.
30-year-old Cooper, who on Wednesday was named to start in No 10 shirt when the Rebels open their season against the Brumbies tomorrow, was walking the streets of Melbourne when he passed a homeless man outside a convenience store.
The 70-Test Wallaby promptly entered the store and bought some food and a drink for the man.
One of Cooper’s trainers, known as ‘Coach Sunz’, filmed the humbling act and shared the video on social media.
Cooper later retweeted the post with the caption: “We all need a little love from time to time..”
Cooper's act was met with high praise from fans on social media.
Cooper spent 2018 playing club rugby after being shunned by new Queensland Reds coach Brad Thorn.
The playmaker will be hoping for a big season with the Rebels as he tries to guide the club to their first-ever postseason appearance and tries to play himself back into Michael Cheika's Wallaby squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
He will link with former Reds teammate Will Genia in the halves at Melbourne. The pair were instrumental in the Reds' maiden Super Rugby title campaign in 2011.
