Watch: All Blacks hooker delivers perfect grubber to gift a Jordie Barrett try

By Online Editors

The All Blacks pulled out every trick in the bag during their 66-3 victory over Italy in Rome.

With the clock winding down and six minutes left to play, reserve hooker Nathan Harris decided to get in on the action.

After a half-break and offload from midfielder Anton Lienert-Brown sent Harris into some space near halfway, the quick-thinking front rower assessed his options.

With Italy's Michele Campagnaro drawn off his wing and fullback Jayden Hayward forced to come up and meet Harris, he knew he had red-hot winger Jordie Barrett on his outside with acres of real estate in front of him.

With a passing lane cut off by two defenders, Harris backed himself and put boot to ball, delivering a grubber kick on the run that sat up perfectly and put Barrett away for his third score with no one left to beat.

The All Blacks' tweet asking to rate the assist out of 10 was met with a chorus of elevens from fans, most awarding top marks at the very least.

Barrett eventually bagged another try after being put away by Richie Mo'unga after the final siren and waltzing in to score his fourth of the night.

His first start on the wing and ninth test overall, the youngest Barrett brother in the side doubled his test try total with is four-try haul in an impressive 80 minute shift.

The All Blacks have now completed their 2018 season and will reassemble next year as they continue to build towards the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
