Georgian fullback Soso Matiashvili scored this stunner in the Lelo’s 54-22 win over Canada in Tblisi over the weekend, after seemingly putting a bit too much weight on his kick ahead.

However, the ball held up millimetres from the dead ball line, allowing Matiashvili to touch down with a spectacular dive. It was one of six tries to the impressive home side, who continue to improve and press their case for inclusion in regular tests against tier one nations.

we would want one of our props at least to be a better than average ball carrier at international level at all times I believe , De Groot looked to me like he carried a lot on Sat whether people think he was particularly effective at that I don’t know …sounds almost blasphemous for me to say this as I am a big Lomax Canes fan and he has done nothing wrong but if Tosi improves then him and De Groot seens better balanced to me than him and Lomax with Tamaiti and Fletcher starting

Finau is a huge choker. Not just because he is on the Chiefs, but everytime he gets an oppurtunity to back up his SRP reputation at test level he falls short. A bit like Sevu Reece. Would much rather have Jacobson or Lio-Willie on the bench to cover 6.

Add Finau to the bench or start him if Tupou out or moved always , he looks the goods to me and never looks like he doesn’t belong out there in the physicality..and against popular opinion played a heap of 80 minute games down stretch for Chiefs with high stats for season and not many penalties other than game against Blues down the stretch when Blues were rolling and his Chiefs mates were capitulating around him😂😂gets scapegoated a bit imo but is a long way of me saying I reckon he is a lock in for our best 23 moving forward

Vaai, Savea, Sititi is a deadly loose forward trio with Lio-Willie and Kirifi off the bench. Truly elite. Just gotta find a good 10, 13, and 14. I think Rieko will have himself sorted at 11 by the end of the season.

Jeesh there were so many good players across the tournament with the ball being chucked around everywhere was actually fun to see the big boi rugby in the final as both teams were able to adapt their game with both teams exciting backs being basically nullified compared to what had come before

Finn Smith had a tough day at office some of those penalty touch finders in the 22 were mikes off the 5 looked rattled after boys got him …Pollock on the other hand was into it loving the ruff stuff like enjoying it and there was some big hits the Lions generally got on the receiving end of

Sigh, Gregor is right of course. You only have to look at the accolades BB regularly collects from experienced rugby writers both here and around the world to see that it’s only in (some parts of) NZ that his skills, experience and incredible value is even a talking point. Injuries aside, BB will become our most capped AB over the next two seasons.

Yea I suppose in 19 I was happy either way with Richie or Beaudie at 10 but Beaudie at 15 just seemed to kick the ball to much ..but I understand ur point and I think it is more than valid ..I still all 3 are very good and Love could be no doubt but what happens with him at Canes will have a major influence on where he plays in black

They resisted bringing Richie in. “Rolls Royce pack” etc. It wasn’t till Dmacs grand mother died and he left the tour to Arg and SA that RM got the starting position. That’s when BB was sadly moved, by Hansen, to 15. With Dmac injury in 19 BB was asked to remain at 15 so they could continue the “ duel playmaker” patterns they strongly believed in. I feel that one Hansen move has harmed NZ rugby as we have seen a few promising 10s put back to 15 when coming g thru SR. ZS is a perfect example. Even Love partly.
