Wellington have won promotion back to the Mitre 10 Cup Premiership with a 59-40 victory over Bay of Plenty in Wellington tonight.

In a highly entertaining game, the traditional provincial powerhouse triumphed in extra time after scores were locked at 40-all at fulltime.
