More Welsh misery as Jonathan Davies' season declared over

By Online Editors
Davies set to miss the Six Nations

Welsh centre Jonathan Davies' season is now over in what is a body blow for Scarlets and Welsh rugby at large.

Davies was ruled out for six months with a foot injury sustained in Wales' November defeat to Australia but it looks now that his recovery will take longer again.

Davies went down in the closing seconds of the 29-21 loss in Cardiff and received treatment on the pitch after the final whistle had been blown.

The Welsh Rugby Union confirmed at the time that the issue would require surgery, placing a six-month estimate on his recovery.

It has now been confirmed that he will not return to rugby this season.

Davies was named the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year for 2017 after the 29-year-old was voted the player of the series as the 2017 British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand.
