England Women France recall quartet for Grand Slam decider
France coaches Gaëlle Mignot and David Ortiz have made four changes to their starting line-up for Saturday’s crunch Guinness Women’s Six Nations 2024 encounter with England in Bordeaux.
Agathe Sochat currently plays as a hooker for the France women’s rugby union team and Stade Bordelais. She has also played for Montpellier Hérault Sport Club Féminines. She made her much-anticipated international debut for France in 2016.
Born on 21 May 1995, Agathe Sochat began playing rugby when she was just four years old. Her parents were very supportive of her talent and encouraged her to continue training while also studying in Bordeaux and Montpellier.
Sochat’s club career started at Stade Bordelais and she joined the team in 2013. She played for the club until 2016, when she transferred to Montpellier Hérault. Here she contested the Élite 1 National Championship and won three back-to-back tournaments in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Then, in 2021, she made the decision to return to Stade Bordelais.
By 2022, it was announced that Agathe Sochat would represent France at the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup. She travelled to New Zealand and the team finished the tournament in third place.
As a passionate and dedicated player, we’re eager to find out how Agathe Sochat’s career unfolds.
Wow! What a fantastic opening round of rugby to kick off this year’s Guinness Women’s Six Nations. While wins in Le Mans and Parma were heavily predicted, Cardiff hosted an epic Celtic showdown where Scotland held on with the tips of their fingers for their first win in Wales in 20 years and their seventh successive win. A late Alex Callendar try provided a nervy finish for the visitors but the conversion went unsuccessful and Scotland took the W in the first round.
