Bio

One of the most exciting prospects in Canadian rugby, Alysha Corrigan is a skillful centre and a versatile sevens player. She currently plays for the Canada women’s rugby team and the national sevens team.

Alysha Corrigan was born on 25 January 1997 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. She started playing rugby in grade 11 and quickly found her feet. A few years later, she attended the University of Prince Edward Island and secured a spot on the university's rugby team.

In 2021, Corrigan embarked on her club career with Sarcens Women. Described by the team as having a 'strong attacking game and pace,’ Corrigan quickly became a crucial member of the club. Additionally, she is also known as a fierce player on the international stage.

Corrigan debuted for Canada in 2018. A few years later, she produced several impressive performances at the 2021 Rugby World Cup. She was named Player of the Match in their pool-stage victory over the USA, scored a try during Canada’s semi-final defeat against England and contested their bronze-final loss against France.

As well as the 15s, Corrigan is also a decorated sevens player. Her achievements include two silver medals: the first at the 2023 Pan American Games and the second at the 2024 Olympic Games.

With success in the sevens and many more international caps to come, we're sure the talented Alysha Corrigan will continue to shine.
