Andrew Porter Bio

Born in Dublin in January 1996, Andrew Porter started his rugby career during his education, playing for St. Andrew's College and later University College Dublin. After a number of impressive performances, he was noticed by Leinster and joined the club's academy in 2016. He made his debut for the Irish provincial side in the first game of the following season, earning a senior contract at the same time.

Andrew Porter has played for Leinster ever since, amassing more than 100 caps for the province. In this time, he’s won four Pro14 titles and a European Rugby Champions Cup

Despite being a behemoth on the domestic scene, Andrew Porter is best known for his appearances on the international stage. Following a runners-up finish in the Junior World Championship in 2016, he made his senior debut for the Ireland national side the following year.

Since, he’s been a cornerstone of the Irish team, earning more than 70 caps for his country. Throughout this period, he’s won three Six Nations Championships, including two Grand Slams

Thanks to his performances for Leinster and Ireland, Andrew Porter was named in the British and Irish Lions squad for the team’s 2021 tour of South Africa. However, he did not appear in any of the test matches. In 2025, he will receive a chance to make his first appearance in a test for the Lions, as he was named in Andy Farrell’s squad for the tour of Australia

With many years of elite rugby still ahead of him, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Andrew Porter.
