Ben Earl Bio

Born 7 January 1998, Ben Earl played more cricket than rugby during his younger years. In fact, he represented Kent until the age of 15.

Earl began his rugby-playing career at Sevenoaks RFC and he came through the Saracens Academy. In November 2016, he made his debut for the club in the Anglo-Welsh Cup. The next season, he scored a try on his Premiership Rugby debut.

Ben Earl has represented Saracens for almost the entirety of his senior career. But, in 2020-21, he spent a year on loan at Bristol Bears after Saracens were relegated from the Premiership. While on loan with Bristol, Ben Earl helped the club win their first ever European trophy, the EPCR Challenge Cup

Since returning to Saracens, Ben Earl has established himself as one of the best back rowers on the planet. He’s also helped Saracens capture multiple Premiership titles.

Earl has also been a regular for England. He represented his country at both U18 and U20 level before making his first team debut in 2020. Now, he’s one of the first names on the team sheet. He’s won the Six Nations, the Autumn Nations Cup and helped his side reach a Rugby World Cup semi-final. Such has been the standard of his performances for his country that he was named as the England Men's Player of the Year in 2024.

In 2025, his performances for club and country were rewarded and he received a call-up to the British and Irish Lions squad for the team’s tour of Australia

Ben Earl is already one of the world’s best forwards. Still in his prime, he has many years of elite rugby ahead of him. We can’t wait to see what he does next.
