Ben White Bio

Born in Stoke-on-Trent 27 May 1998, Ben White made his senior debut for Leicester Tigers at the tender age of 17. Interestingly, the match was actually Marcos Ayerza’s testimonial fixture, so he debuted against an Argentina side that was preparing for the 2015 Rugby World Cup

Shortly after, Ben White made his Premiership debut at the age of 17 years and 151 days. In doing so, he became the youngest player to represent Leicester in the Premiership. A few years later, at the age of 21, he captained the side.

In total, between 2015 and 2021, Ben White made 71 appearances for Leicester. During this time, he also enjoyed a successful loan spell at Doncaster Knights.

In 2021, he then left Leicester and enjoyed a brief spell at London Irish before the team entered administration in 2023. At this point, he signed for Toulon in the Top 14. He’s stayed with the French side ever since.

Ben White’s early exploits with Leicester Tigers caught the attention of England scouts and he represented England at U17, U18 and U20 level. In his 2018-19 breakthrough season with Leicester, he was named in an England squad for an uncapped fixture against the Barbarians

However, despite appearing for England at age-grade level, Ben White ultimately decided to represent Scotland on the international stage. He qualifies to play for Scotland via his grandfather, who is Scottish.

Since making his international debut in 2022, Ben White has become a regular fixture in the Scotland squad. He’s represented his adopted country during several Six Nations Championships and played for Scotland at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Thanks to his form for Toulon and Scotland, Ben White was called into the British and Irish Lions squad for the team’s 2025 tour of Australia. He missed out on selection initially but replaced the injured Tomos Williams before the first test.

Still very much at the peak of his powers, we can’t wait to see what else Ben White can achieve in the game.
