Ben Youngs Bio

Born 5 September 1989, Ben Youngs is a member of a rugby-playing family. His dad, Nick Youngs, represented both Leicester and England in his playing days and his older brother, Tom, also played for Leicester.

As a result, it came as no surprise when Ben Youngs joined the Leicester Academy in 2006. He’s represented the club ever since and has now made more than 300 appearances for the side. In this time, he's won the Premiership title on multiple occasions and has won numerous individual awards. Sadly though, he has decided to retire from all forms of rugby at the end of the 2024-25 Premiership Rugby season.

On the international stage, Ben Youngs has been capped more than 100 times by his country. When he received his 100th cap, he was only the second person to reach this landmark, after Jason Leonard. He retired from international duty in 2023 when England were eliminated from the Rugby World Cup at the semi-final stage.

By the time he retired from international duty, Ben Youngs had won 127 caps and was England’s most-capped player of all-time. He’d also won the Six Nations Championship four times (including a Grand Slam in 2016) and represented his country in a Rugby World Cup final.

Ben Youngs’ professional career may be coming to a close, but he still has plenty to offer the game he loves. We can’t wait to see what he does next.
