As a skillful sevens and 15s player, Chloe Rollie currently plays as a full back for the Scotland women’s rugby union team and Loughborough Lightning. She earned her first cap as an outside centre in 2015 before switching to the number 15 jersey.
Born on 26 June 1995 in Edinburgh, Chloe Rollie grew up in Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders and began playing rugby at the age of eight. She trained with the minis at Jed-Forest before eventually progressing to the Gala Girls U15s and U18s. At this time, she also played football and she featured for Heart of Midlothian Football Club.
Rollie’s rugby club career began when she left school and signed for Melrose RFC. She represented the team for three years before transferring to the Murrayfield Wanderers at the age of 19. She remained with the club for two years and helped them win two league titles.
By 2017, her professional career was underway. She joined Lille MRCV in 2017 and then made her debut for Harlequins Women in 2019. She won her first Premier 15s season in 2021 before signing with Exeter Chiefs for 2021/22. Rollie then transferred to Loughborough Lightning at the beginning of 2023.
In addition to her club career, Rollie is a prominent player for the national team. She made her Scotland debut at the 2015 Women’s Six Nations and scored her first international try at the 2017 tournament – she delivered a brace of tries in Scotland’s 14-12 win against Italy.
Rollie has also enjoyed success as a sevens player. She scored eight tries for the Scotland Sevens team at the European Women’s Sevens Championship in 2016 and celebrated winning the 2017 competition without conceding a single point. Additionally, she competed at the Rugby Europe Grand Prix and represented Scotland again at the 2019 World Rugby Sevens Series.
